Bobcats Swarm into a 2-Game Win Streak

(Courtesy Robert Lahser – Charlotte Observer)

I love getting to write recaps.  I love doing it even more when the Bobcats come out victorious!  This was one of those nights.  The Bobcats came out on the court, did their job, and came out victorious.  Now we are in the midst of a 2-game win streak with Kemba Walker on the bench.  How did this come to be?  Read on…

I’m not going to lie; every game without Kemba makes me nervous.  He’s our Mr. Clutch and without him, I honestly did not know what to expect for the 10-14 days that he will be out with his 2nd degree left ankle sprain.  So far so good for the Kemba-less ‘Cats, right?  Tonight, Sessions and Pargo did exactly what was needed of them.  Sessions gave us 10 points, 8 assists with 3 turnovers, and 2 rebounds, and Pargo gave us 11 points, 2 assists, a rebound and a steal.  I’ve been very pleased with what we have seen over the past 2 games.  I did not enjoy watching that 30-point lead fade away in the last game, but I am enjoying the bench stepping up and getting the job done.  In addition to Pargo’s numbers, Tolliver put in work, giving us 10 points, 3 rebounds and an assist.  We also had Cody Zeller with 4 points, 2 rebounds, an assist and a block, Biz with 5 rebounds, and Chris Douglas-Roberts with 2 points, a block, a rebound, and an assist.  It means the world when the bench can hold their own and give the starters some rest.  That’s what happened tonight.  The starters didn’t come into the 4th quarter until around the 7-minute mark.  Great job to the Bobcats bench.

I’ve focused so much on the bench, I have to revert back to the starters and do some talking.  Big Al continues to show all of the Bobcats fans just why he is here.  He posted yet another double double tonight.  He had 24 points, 10 rebounds, an assist, a steal, and a block.  Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.  He just brings so much energy to the game.  Gerald Henderson had an off night, netting 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal.  Don’t forget Josh McRoberts performance tonight.  He had 13 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists with 2 turnovers, and a steal.  I’d be willing to bet that he could possibly be the next Bobcat we see with a triple-double.  McBob, I’m issuing the challenge so make it happen my friend.

With Kemba’s injury, the 2 remaining branches of the Tri-Fecta has to really step up and score points, and do so efficiently.  Tonight we faced a team that was short a start of their own in Chris Paul.  Some will say that this is why we got the victory.  We were without Kemba, so I say that it didn’t matter.  This was a team victory that was earned through good defense, focus, and determination.  We needed this 2-game win streak as we head to New York to face the Knicks yet again.  We just need to keep the momentum up, grab this victory in NY, and head home for the next Buzz City night on Saturday.

I wanted to mention that the Cats Crazies will be in attendance.  I am part of this group of SuperFans and we are always loud and proud when we are in the house.  By all means, stop by and say hi as we will be in the concourse before the game shouting and cheering for our Hornets.  That’s right I said Hornets.  The Cats Crazies are morphing with the team as we will become “The Swarm”.  Pumped up fans yelling and screaming during the entire game…infecting the rest of the fans in the arena with our love and passion for this team.  LOUD AND PROUD!  We’d love for everyone around us to join in the cheers and make things rowdy for the Chicago Bulls that we will be facing on Saturday.  It won’t be all that long before we are LIVE AT THE HIVE AGAIN!

In the meantime…

Let’s Go CATS!
